    (UGC NET) EXAM DETAILS
  
 
The National Eligibility Test (NET), also known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is
  an examination conducted by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the
  University Grants Commission to determine eligibility for the post of
  assistant professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship award in Indian
  universities and colleges. Until July 2018, the Central Board of Secondary
  Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET exam, which the NTA has been conducting
  since December 2018. The exam is considered one of the hardest exams in India,
  with a success rate of only 6%.
Some key points about the UGC NET exam are:
- The exam is conducted twice a year, in the months of June and December.
    
- The exam is conducted in online mode, and candidates can choose their exam
    center.
- The eligibility criteria for the exam require candidates to have completed
    their master's degree or be in the final year of their master's program with

UGC NET JUNE 2024 – HOW TO APPLY 
Here are the steps to apply for the UGC NET June 2024 Exam: 
- Visit the official website of UGC NET -https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/
    
- Click on the "UGC NET June 2024 Registration" link on the homepage. 
- Fill in the required details such as Name, Phone Number, Email Address,
    and Aadhar Number. 
- Choose the preferred UGC NET subject as per your area of specialization in
    your post-graduation degree course. 
- Upload the scanned documents such as photographs and signatures in the
    prescribed format and size. 
- Pay the application fee through the available payment modes. 
- Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page
    for future reference. 
Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying, as the form
  can be accepted only for eligible candidates. The UGC NET June 2024 Exam
  application process is being carried out between April 20 to May 10, 2024.
  
UGC NET SELECTION PROCEDURE 2024 
The selection procedure for the UGC NET June 2024 Exam is as follows:
1. Candidates are required to
  appear for both Paper I and Paper II of the UGC NET June 2024 Exam.
2. The minimum qualifying marks for
  Paper I and Paper II are 40% and 40% respectively for the General category,
  while for OBC-NCL/PWD/SC/ST categories, the minimum qualifying marks are 35%
  and 35% respectively.
3. Candidates who qualify for both
  Paper I and Paper II and meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for
  the post of Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
4. The number of candidates to be
  qualified (total slots or Eligibility for Assistant Professor) shall be equal
  to 6% of the candidates who appeared in both the papers of NET and 1% (for
  JRF) from which the final selection will be made.
5. The final selection will be
  based on the merit list prepared by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
  based on the candidate's performance in the UGC NET June 2024 Exam.
6. Candidates who qualify for the
  Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) will be eligible to receive a fellowship for
  a period of two years, which can be further extended for a third year based on
  the candidate's performance.
7. Candidates who qualify for the
  post of Assistant Professor will be eligible for recruitment in Indian
  universities and colleges.
