NATIONAL ENTRANCE SCREENING TEST (NEST) EXAM PATTERN 2024

 

The NEST 2024 exam pattern provided information about the upcoming examination's question paper. The NEST exam pattern changed in 2021. The general section was deleted, and the NEST exam was divided into four sections:

 

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Mathematics

 

The NEST 2024 exam pattern is as follows:

 

  • Mode of Exam: The NEST 2024 exam will be conducted in online mode (computer-based test).
  • Exam Duration: Candidates will have 3 hours 30 minutes to complete the examination.
  • Sections: The question paper will consist of four sections - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
  • Type of Questions: The question paper will contain multiple-choice type questions and Multiple Response Questions (MRQ).
  • Language: The question paper will be in Hindi and English.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be of 200 marks.

 

Marking Scheme:

 

  • Marks per Question: For multiple choice questions MCQs, candidates will earn 2.5 marks for each correct answer. For multiple-response questions MRQs, candidates will earn 4 marks for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: For multiple choice questions MCQs, 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. For multiple response questions MRQs, there is no negative marking.
