OVERVIEW OF NEST EXAM DETAILS 2024

 

 The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is an annual college entrance examination in India conducted for admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (NISER) and the Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. NEST 2024 is a compulsory online/computer-based test for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc program in Biology. The exam follows the NCERT/CBSE science syllabus of class XI-XII and includes sections on Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

 

The NEST 2024 exam notification has been released, providing essential details for candidates. The exam is scheduled to take place on June 30, 2024, in two shifts - morning and afternoon. Registration is expected to commence on March 20, 2024, with the deadline set for May 31, 2024.

NEST Eligibility Criteria 2024

 

The eligibility criteria for NEST 2024 are as follows:

 

  • Age Criteria: Candidates must be born on or after August 1, 2004, to be eligible for the exam. There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates.
  • Qualification: Applicants must have passed the 12th/intermediate or equivalent examination from a recognized board in either 2022 or 2023. Those appearing for the final year in 2024 are also eligible. Secure a position in the NEST 2024 merit list.
  • Subjects: Candidates must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as mandatory subjects in the qualifying exam.
  • Marks: A minimum of 60% marks is required for general category candidates in aggregate or equivalent grade in class 12 examination (55% for reserved categories).
