Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Group 1 Exam Pattern 2023

The APPSC Group 1 selection procedure is divided into three stages:

1) Preliminary Exam (Screening Test) Exam Pattern –

  • Mode of Exam – Written Examination
  • Types of Questions - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • The prelims exam consists of 240 multiple-choice questions.
  • The exam is divided into two section, which includes General Studies and General Ability.
  • The General Studies is divided into five sub-parts, namely History and Culture (30 marks ), Constitution polity, Social Justice and International relations. (30 marks ), Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning (30 marks ), Geography (30 marks ).
  • General Aptitude is divided into 2 Parts, Part I General Mental Ability, Administrative and Psychological Abilities(60 marks) and Part II have two sections A(i) Science and Technologies. (30 marks) B (ii) Current events of Regional, National and International importance (30 marks).
  • The screening test will be conducted for 240 marks.
  • The duration of the exam is 120 minutes for Paper 1 and 120 minutes for paper 2.

APPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern 2024 :-

Those candidates who qualify for the prelims exam, have to qualify for the APPSC Group 1 main exam to complete the examination process. The Main exam is a conventional offline mode exam. Main exam consists of 7 papers of which 2 qualifying papers and 5 are counted for merit ranking. The paper's time duration is 180 min (3 hours).
