KARNATAKA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (KCET) EXAM PATTERN 2024

The KCET 2024 exam pattern is as follows:

• The exam will be conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode.
• The exam will be conducted for four subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
• Each subject will have 60 questions.
• The duration of the exam will be 80 minutes (10 minutes for OMR instruction fill up & 70 min for Test) for each subject.
• The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
• There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

KCET Kannada Language Test 2024

Candidates claiming eligibility for government seats under the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses must take a Kannada language test.

• The Kannada Language Test was held offline for 60 minutes. The Kannada Language Test will be conducted at the 4th grade level.

• Exam centres in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Bidar, Bijapura, and Mangalore will hold the Kannada Language Test.

• The Kannada Language Test requires a minimum qualifying score of 12 out of 50.

• Kannada Language Test is not necessary for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga applicants who passed 1st to 10th grade in Kannada outside of Karnataka.

KCET 2024 Instructions for OMR Sheet 

KCET 2024 is an offline paper, which means candidates will be provided OMR sheets to mark their answers. Candidates should keep the following points in mind as they mark their answers on the ORS Sheet.

• Candidates will receive a two-page optical response sheet (ORS) to mark their answers. The two ORS pages will have the same layout.
• The first page of the ORS is machine readable. It is intended to leave impressions from the comments on the second page.
• Ensure that the two pages of the OMR Sheet remain aligned at all times.
•  Candidates should mark responses to all questions on the first page of the OMR Sheet by darkening the corresponding bubble.
• Candidates should use a BLACK BALL POINT pen to darken the bubbles.
• Candidates must exert sufficient pressure to guarantee that a proper impression is created on the second page of the ORS.
• The directions for darkening the bubbles will be printed on the question paper, and applicants must strictly follow them.
• The invigilator will give the applicants the second page of the ORS at the end of the exam.
