(a) A citizen of India (either natural or by registration), or

(b) Such other nationals as declared eligible by the Govt. of India

Age Limit

The age limit for the WBCS Exam 2023 is as follows:

• For services and posts required in Group A and C: 21-36 years (As on January 1 of the year of the examination)
• West Bengal Police Service (i.e. Group B service only): 20-36 years (As on January 1 of the year of the year of the examination)
• For services and vacancies that are a part of Category D: 21-39 years (As on January 1 of the year of the examination)

WBCS SELECTION CRITERIA 2023

The selection process for the WBPSC Civil Service 2023 Exam consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary Exam: The Preliminary Exam is the first stage of the selection process. It consists of objective-type questions (MCQs) covering General Studies. Candidates who qualify for the Preliminary Exam will be eligible to appear for the main exam.
2. Mains Exam: The Mains Exam is the second stage of the selection process. It consists of eight papers covering General Studies, Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, English, and Optional Subjects. Candidates who qualify for the Mains Exam will be eligible to appear for the Personality Test.
3. Personality Test: The Personality Test is the final stage of the selection process. It is conducted to assess the candidate's personality, leadership qualities, and suitability for civil services. The final selection of candidates will be based on the marks obtained in the Mains Exam and the Personality Test.

WBCS ADMIT CARD 2023

The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) will release the admit card for the WBPSC Civil Service 2023 Examination on its official website a few days before the exam.
