OVERVIEW OF IPMAT EXAM DETAILS 2024

The IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) is a significant exam for those seeking admission to the five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM), which combines both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in management. IPMAT is conducted annually by various IIMs, including IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu, and others. The IPM program aims to nurture management potential among students starting from their early academic careers.

After successful completion of the three-year BBA component, students are eligible to proceed directly to the MBA program at IIMs and other participating institutions without taking additional entrance exams. The IPMAT exam score plays a vital role in the overall selection process, although written ability tests (WAT) and personal interviews (PI) are also considered. In summary, IPMAT is a significant exam for those aspiring to pursue a dual degree in management through the IPM program. Successful candidates gain direct entry into prestigious MBA programs without needing to sit for additional entrance exams.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) will also accept IPMAT scores for its Integrated Programme in Management. INTEGRATED PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT APTITUDE TEST (IPMAT) EXAM– IMPORTANT DATES

IPMAT 2024 Notification was released on the official website of IIM on 14^th February 2024. Candidates can apply online from 14^th February 2024 to the last date 26^th March 2024. Candidates must frequently check EaseTolearn to be updated on important and recent IPMAT 2024 exam notifications.

IPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

 IPMAT AGE LIMIT –The age limit for the IPMAT 2024 exam is as follows:

• For General, NC-OBC, and EWS category students, the maximum age limit is 20 years as of July 31, 2024.
• For SC, ST, and PwD category students, there is a relaxation of 5 years, so the maximum age limit is 25 years as of July 31, 2024.

Therefore, candidates should have been born on or after August 1, 2004, to be eligible for the IPMAT 2024 exam. For SC, ST, and PwD category students, the candidate should have been born on or after August 1, 1999. 

IPMAT EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION–To be eligible for IPMAT 2024, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications:

• Have passed Standard X/SSC or equivalent examination in the year 2020 or later.
• Have obtained a minimum of 60% in Standard X/SSC and Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examinations (55% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories).
• Have passed Standard XII/HSC or equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or be appearing in 2024.

There is no minimum percentage criterion for class X and XII for general category candidates applying in 2024

IPMAT Reservation Criteria 2024

The reservation policy for IPMAT 2024 may vary slightly from one IIM to another, but the following is a general outline of the reservation categories commonly followed by IIMs:

• Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Reservation: Typically, 15% of the seats are reserved for SC candidates, and about 7.5% of the seats are reserved for ST candidates.
• Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) Reservation: A certain percentage of seats (usually around 27%) are reserved for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer). The specific percentage may vary among IIMs.
• Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) Reservation: In accordance with government regulations, a specific percentage of seats (usually around 10%) are reserved for candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections.
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Reservation: A certain percentage of seats (usually around 5%) are reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). Different categories of disabilities may be specified, such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, etc.

IPMAT Selection Procedure 2024

The IPMAT selection process involves the following stage:

• Aptitude Test Score (ATS): 65%
• Personal Interview (PI): 35%

Therefore, the maximum possible Composite Score is 100%, where 65 out of 100 comes from the Aptitude Test Score and 35 out of 100 comes from the Personal Interview score. This system ensures that both academic achievement and interpersonal skills contribute equally to the final decision for admission.
