The UPPSC PCS (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Provincial Civil Service) Upper Subordinate Exam, also known as UPPCS, is a competitive examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) to recruit candidates for various Group B services through Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services. The UPPSC PCS exam is conducted every year, and the selection process includes filling out the application, appearing for the preliminary and main exams, and participating in the Personality Test. The exam is open to candidates who hold a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or equivalent. The UPPSC PCS exam is a state-level exam and is considered to be one of the most popular exams conducted by the UPPSC. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced 220 vacancies for various administrative positions in Uttar Pradesh through the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination, also known as UPPSC PCS.

The vacancies are distributed across different departments and services, including Sub Registrar, Assistant Prosecuting Officer (Transport), District Basic Shiksha Adhikari, District Audit Officer (Revenue Audit), Assistant Controller Legal Measurement, Senior Lecturer, DIET, Chemist, Officer on Special Duty (Computer), District Can Officer, UP Agriculture Service Group B, Labour Enforcement Officer, Management Officer/Manager (Estate Department), Technical Assistant, and Tax Assessment Officer.

UPPSC PCS Selection Procedure 2024

The selection process for the UP Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Service 2024 exam consists of three stages:

1.   Preliminary Examination: This stage includes two papers - one on general studies and another on aptitude. Paper-1 has 150 questions for 200 marks, and Paper-2 is qualifying.

2.   Main Examination: Candidates who qualify the preliminary exam will proceed to the main exam.

3.   Personality Test (Viva-Voice): The final stage of the selection process is the personal Test.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the main exam based on their performance in the preliminary exam. The final merit list will be based on the marks secured in the main exam and the Personality Test. The selection process is the same for all candidates, with no specific variations based on the post-applied.
