Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (IB ACIO) Exam Pattern 2023

The selection process for the IB ACIO 2023 exam involves three stages:

1. Tier 1(Written Examination): Objective Type with 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

2. Tier 2 (Written Examination): Descriptive Type (Essay and Precis Writing, English Comprehension)

3. Interview: Conducted by the Intelligence Bureau.

IB ACIO Tier 1 Exam Pattern –

• The Tier 1 IB ACIO 2023 Exam pattern consists of the following:
• Mode of Exam – Written Examination
• Types of Questions - Objective-type question
• Total Number of Sections -Five main sections: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Studies, and English Language
• Total number of Questions -100 questions
• Exam Duration: 1 hour (60 minutes)

Marking Scheme:

• Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
• There is negative marking for incorrect answers.
• Negative marking of 1/4th for each wrong answers.

IB ACIO Tier 2 Exam Pattern –

The IB ACIO Tier-2 Exam 2023 is a descriptive exam that includes Essay composition as well as English comprehension and composition. Candidates have one hour to complete this section, which is given 50marks.

IB ACIO Tier 3 Interview –

The interview process of the IB ACIO 2023 exam, also known as Tier 3, is an interactive session that assesses the personality and suitability of the candidates. It is a qualifying round, and candidates are judged based on their performance in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams. The interview is conducted to further evaluate the candidates' understanding, expression, and communication skills. It is an essential stage that determines the final selection of candidates for the position of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, Grade-II/Executive in the Intelligence Bureau.

The interview is an interactive session that assesses the candidates' personality and suitability for the position. The interview is conducted for 100 marks, and candidates are judged based on their overall performance in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams. The interview is a comprehensive evaluation that considers academic knowledge and communication skills. The interview is qualifying in nature, and the final selection of candidates is based on their performance in the interview.

Note - Candidates who appear in interviews may be subjected to a psychometric/aptitude exam as part of the interview process.
