OVERVIEW OF RESERVE BANKS OF INDIA (RBI) GRADE B OFFICERS EXAM DETAILS-
The RBI Grade B exam is given annually by the Reserve Bank of India. One of the most highly regarded occupations in the nation. The Reserve Bank of India announced a Grade B vacancy in its official notificationfor 2024. A total of 94 vacancies were made available by RBI this year. RBI GRADE B RECRUITMENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2024
(a)Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried male/female and must be :
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
(b) RBI Grade B Recruitment Age Limit 2024
The prescribed age limit under RBI GRADE B Recruitment is described below.
Minimum age limit: 21 years
Maximum age limit: 30 years
A RBI Grade B candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1993 and not later than 01.07.2003 (both dates inclusive). The maximum age for applicants with M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees will be 32 and 34 years old, respectively.

Note: Candidates with professional and technical qualifications that are recognised by the government as equivalent to professional and technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination. These full-time courses must be taken after Class XIIth and be at least three years in length. Candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India may also apply for the Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General). OR Any such full-time course taken from a recognised college or institute after graduating that is at least two years long and is approved by the government as being equal to post graduation will be eligible for admission to the exam. |

A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. OR b. PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. OR c. Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute d. (i) Candidates having Master's Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned. Desirable A doctorate in economics, research experience, teaching experience, or publications in reputable journals would be regarded as extra qualifications. |

Essential: a. A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years. OR b. Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute. OR c. M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years. OR d. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years. Desirable (i) Candidates with doctoral degrees in subjects associated with those mentioned above will be given preference. (ii) Experience in research or teaching and publications in reputable journals will be taken into consideration as further qualifications. Candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in the relevant fields are eligible for a 2-year and 4-year increase in the upper age limit, respectively. Candidates will be eligible for a relaxation in the upper age restriction to the extent of the number of years of such experience, up to a maximum of three years, at a recognised Indian or foreign university or institute. The probationary period will not be taken into account for experience. |
(d) RBI Grade B Recruitment Number of Attempts 2024
Candidates from the general, or unreserved, category who have already taken the Phase-I Examination for this post six times are ineligible to apply. If the posts are designated as being for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, this restriction does not apply to them.
RBI Grade B Recruitment Service Conditions & Career Prospectus
(i) Pay Scale: The starting basic pay for selected candidates will be Rs. 55,200/- per month in the pay scale of Rs. 55200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750 (16 years) applicable to officers in Grade B. Additionally, they will be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance in accordance with the rules that are in effect at the time. Currently, the starting monthly gross emoluments are around Rs. 1,08,404. If housing is not supplied by the Bank, the House Allowance of 15% of Basic Pay will be paid.
(ii) Seniority:Candidates chosen from various recruitment processes for the post of Officer in Grade B (DR) for the General, DEPR, and DSIM streams will join the Common Seniority Group, and the seniority among these Officers will be determined in accordance with the ranking determined by using the standard percentile score of the selected candidates' combined marks.
(iii) Initial appointments are subject to a two-year probationary period. The probationary period may be extended at the Bank's discretion for a maximum of four years.
(iv)There are decent chances for promotion to higher grades.
(v) Candidates who are chosen have the potential to be placed and transferred anyplace in India.

As stated in the RBI Grade B Notification 2024, candidates must only apply ON-LINE for the RBI Grade B Officers Exam on the bank's website, www.rbi.org.in, starting on July 25, 2024, and continuing through August 16, 2024. The website has detailed instructions for submitting an ONLINE application. For the RBI Grade B Exam in 2024, candidates must register online and submit application forms. As the application process for the RBI Grade B exam for 2024 gets underway, all candidates who are interested in applying can fill out the online application by clicking on the link provided below.
The system-generated print out (hard copy) of the ON-LINE application is not required to be sent by candidates to the Boards office.

RBI Grade B Recruitment Selection Procedure 2024
The selection process for RBI Grade B 2024 is divided into three stages. The RBI Grade B selection procedure is broken down into the following phases:-
- Phase 1 - Online Objective Test: This is the preliminary round. The marks acquired at this level will have no impact on the final result. However, in order to proceed to the next round of the selection process, applicants must achieve a high score. It consists of 200 questions that must be answered in 120 minutes. Each subject has its own sectional time.
- Phase 2 - Online Objective / Descriptive Test: It includes both objective and descriptive exams; the same information is provided here. Each part has its own assigned time duration.
- GD and Interview- This is the last step in the selecting process. The final results will be a combination of the scores obtained in this stage and phase 2.
