OVERVIEW OF NDA EXAM DETAILS

 

The NDA exam is held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Recruitment of candidates to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA) is through the National Defence Academy Entrance Exam which is conducted twice a year, generally in the month of April and September.


Participants should ensure they meet all requirements for admission to the NDA & NA exams before submitting their applications. Their admission at all examination stages will be conditional upon meeting the specified eligibility requirements.

NDA 2 Eligibility Criteria 2024

 

Candidates must fulfill the qualifying requirements in terms of nationality, age restriction, and educational background in order to apply for the NDA exam 2024.

 

(a) Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried male/female and must be :
   (i) a citizen of India, or
   (ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
   (iii) a subject of Nepal, or
   (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
   (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
As long as the candidate falls under categories (ii), (iii), (iv), or (v) above, they must be someone in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been given by the Government of India. However, candidates who are Nepalese Gorkha subjects will not need a certificate of eligibility.  

 

(b) NDA Age Limits, Sex, and Marital Status: Candidates must be unmarried males or females who were born between January 2, 2006, and January 1, 2009, in order to be eligible.

 

(c) New Educational Qualifications of UPSC-NDA:

 

Candidates for the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy may have completed or be pursuing Class 12

 

For the Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy, the NDA qualification is a Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Candidates who are appearing in Class 12 can apply for the exam provisionally.

 

(d) UPSC NDA Physical Standards

 

To be eligible for the exam, candidates must be physically fit.

Candidates who have left or withdrawn from any military training academy due to disciplinary issues are ineligible to take the NDA exam.

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR NDA 2 2024 APPLICATION FORMS:

 

Candidates must use the website to submit their online NDA and NA application forms. 

 

Visit the official website of UPSC.
•Complete the one-time registration process if not registered earlier.
•Candidates who are already registered can directly fill out the application form
•The registration process can be completed in two steps, namely Part I and Part II.
•Part I include essential registration and other details while Part II includes uploads of scanned photographs, signature, fee payments, etc.
•When completing the application, select the exam locations of your choice.
•Candidates must properly fill out all of their personal, educational qualifications, address, and other details carefully
•Candidates are also given the facility to withdraw NDA 2 application form 2024
•Candidates need to upload scanned documents in the specific format
•Candidates should not send the hard copy of the application form to the examination authority
•Take a printout of the application form after the final submission

 

NDA Application Fee:

 

Candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) by depositing cash, using State Bank of India's net banking service, using a Visa, Mastercard, or Rupay credit or debit card, or by specifying exceptions for SC/ST candidates, female candidates, Wards of JCOs and NCOs, and ORs in Note 2 below.

E-ADMIT CARD NDA & NA:-

 

Three weeks before the start of the NDA examination, the eligible candidates will receive an e-Admit Card. Candidates will be able to download the e-Admit Card from the UPSC website (upsconline.nic.in).  No admit cards will be mailed.  All applicants must enter a valid and active email address when completing the online NDA application form since the Commission may contact them through email.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NDA WRITTEN EXAMINATION RESULTS, QUALIFIED CANDIDATES' INTERVIEWS, ANNOUNCEMENT OF FINAL RESULTS, AND ADMISSION TO THE TRAINING COURSES OF THE FINALLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES:

 

Candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the NDA & NA written test as determined by the Commission at their discretion will be put on a list by the Union Public Service Commission. Such candidates must appear before a Services Selection Board for the NDA & NA Intelligence and Personality Test, where those selected for the Army/Navy wings of the NDA and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of the Indian Naval Academy will be judged on their officer potential. In addition to the mentioned requirements, those selected for the Air Force must also pass the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS). If they are eligible for SSB and willing, candidates who have the Air Force as one of their top selections will also participate in CPSS.

 

NDA & NA EXAM SELECTION PROCEDURE 2024:

 

•UPSC conducts the NDA exam in two stages: a written test and an SSB Interview.
•The first stage is the written exam, in which candidates must perform competently to proceed further with the selection process. Candidates who clear this stage will be called for an SSB Interview.

 

Note - Every candidate for the Air Force's Flying Branch only takes the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) (Pilot Aptitude Test) once. His first-test scores will consequently stand as valid for all subsequent interviews he has with the Air Force selection board. A candidate who receives a negative score on the CPSS is not eligible to sit for the general duties (pilot) branch, naval air arm, or flying branch admission exams at the National Defence School.
