LIC AAO Generalist Exam Pattern 2025
To be selected for the post, the candidate must complete all three levels of the exam pattern. The exam pattern for the LIC AAO Generalist 2025 exam is shown below. LIC AAO Generalist 2025 has three stages:
- Prelims Exam(Online – Qualifying)
- Mains Exam(Online – Scoring)
- Interview(Face-to-face)
LIC AAO Generalist Preliminary Exam Pattern 2025
- The LIC AAO Generalist Preliminary Exam consists of three sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
- Section-wise maximum marks: English Language (30), Reasoning Ability (35), and Quantitative Aptitude (35).
- Total marks: 100.
- Types of Question - Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions)
- Time duration per section: 20 minutes.
- Overall time duration: 60 minutes (1 hour).
- Bilingual format (English and Hindi).
- Note: Marks obtained in the English Language section are not considered for merit/ranking; the section is qualifying only.
- No negative marking applies in the prelims exam.

LIC AAO Generalist Mains Exam Pattern 2025
The LIC AAO Generalist Mains Exam Pattern 2025 consists of two parts: an Objective Test and a Descriptive Test.
- The exam is conducted online.
- There is no negative marking in the Mains exam.
- The Descriptive Test is qualifying in nature, and only the Objective Test marks are considered for ranking.
- The final merit list is prepared based on the Mains exam and Interview scores.

- General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30 questions, 60 marks, 20 minutes)

- Total: 120 questions, 300 marks, 120 minutes
Descriptive Test:
- English Language: 2 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes
- Format: Letter Writing & Essay
- Qualifying in nature, marks not counted for ranking.
- Nature: The descriptive paper is qualifying. The marks you score in this section are not counted towards the final selection, but you must pass it to proceed.

LIC AAO Generalist Interview 2025
The LIC AAO Generalist interview is the final stage of the selection process after the preliminary and main examinations. Its primary purpose is to assess a candidate's communication skills, personality, and overall suitability for the Assistant Administrative Officer role.
The interview is a personal interview where a panel of interviewers evaluates your personality and communication skills. It is the third and final stage of the three-tiered selection process.
- The marks from the Mains examination and the interview are combined to create the final merit list for selection.
- Marks: The interview carries 60 marks.
- Qualifying Marks: The minimum qualifying marks are 30 for UR/OBC/EWS categories and 27 for SC/ST/PwBD categories.
- Purpose: The interview assesses the candidate's personality, communication skills, and suitability for the role.
Final Selection:
The final selection is based on a candidate's performance in the Mains exam (300 marks) and the Interview (60 marks), for a total of 360 marks. The marks from the preliminary exam are not considered for the final merit list.Candidates must also clear the Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination to be finally appointed.
