OVERVIEW OF ODISHA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION MEDICAL OFFICER (OPSC MO) EXAM DETAILS

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is the state organisation with the authority to conduct the recruitment for the position of OPSC Medical Officers in Group-A (Junior Branch) of the Odisha Medical & Health Services Cadre under the Health & Family Welfare Department.    

OPSC Medical Officer Notification 2023 is scheduled to be released on August 11, 2023 (Advertisement No. 14 of 2023-24). OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2023 has released a total of 7276 vacancies in Group-A Junior Branch of Odisha Medical & Health Services cadre under Health & Welfare Family Department in the pay matrix of Level 12, Cell - 1 of & 56,100/- of ORSP, 2017 with usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. Candidates can apply online from August 18^th to September 18^th, 2023.

OPSC MEDICAL OFFICER 2023 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

OPSC MEDICAL OFFICER (OPSC MO) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• A candidate must have an MBBS or an equivalent degree from a medical college or other institution that has been approved by the Medical Council of India.
• He must obtain a valid registration certificate issued by the Odisha Medical Registration Act 1961.
• In the case of candidates with degrees from foreign universities, they must have the necessary conversion certificates recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

OPSC MEDICAL OFFICER (OPSC MO) AGE LIMIT

The following is the OPSC Medical Officer 2023 age limit for each category of candidates as of January 1, 2023.

Minimum age limit: 20 years

Maximum age limit: 38 years

The recruiting announcement grants candidates from specific groups and communities an age relaxation. It should be mentioned that only residents of Odisha will be eligible for any relaxations and reservations.

Furthermore, doctors working under a state government or state government-affiliated undertaking on an ad hoc contractual basis may have an upper age limit of up to 5 years.

OPSC MEDICAL OFFICER (OPSC MO) OTHER ELIGIBILITY

(i) The candidate must be an Indian citizen,

(ii) The candidate shall be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have -

(a) Candidate must passed Middle School examination in Odia as a language subject; or

(b) Candidate must passed Matriculation or equivalent examination with Odia as medium of examination in non-language subject; or

(c) Candidate must passed in Odia as language subject in the final examination of Class VII or above; or

(d) Candidate must passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department.

(e) If a candidate has not passed the Middle School Examination in Odia as a language subject, he or she will be allowed to take the examination administered by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, within two years of joining the service, failing which no further increments will be granted and no promotion to the rank of Group A (Senior Branch) will be made.
