OVERVIEW OF COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST (CLAT) EXAM DETAILS

The Common Law dmission Test, usually known as CLAT, is a national-level lawentrance exam for admissionadmissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities in India. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) conducts the exam in an offline, pen-and-paper style. Qualifying candidates will be allowed to the 5-year integrated LLB and LLM programmes offered by the participating national law universities.

At participating NLUs, the Centralised Admission Process of seat assignment fills about 3.000 undergraduate seats and 1,000 postgraduate seats. However, the nation's top private law schools have also approved of CLAT.

COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST (CLAT) EXAMINATION–IMPORTANT DATES

The CLAT application form for 2025 was made available on July 15, 2024 by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs).Last date to apply for CLAT 2025 application form is October 15, 2024. Earlier, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) had made some modification to the CLAT 2025 syllabus. In CLAT 2025, there will be 120 questions instead of 150. CLAT 2025 examination will be held on December 1, 2024, in offline mode.

CLAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2025

Eligibility criteria

UG-CLAT(5-year LLB)

PG-CLAT (One-year LLM)

Education qualification

Class 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 45% marks (40% for Reserved categories)

Graduation in Law (3-year LLB or 5-year LLB) with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% in case of Reserved categories candidates)

Candidates appearing in qualifying exam are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2025

Age limit

There is no age limit for CLAT Exam

Attempt

No limit (Candidates who appeared for CLAT 2024 can also appear in CLAT 2025)

Candidates who are taking their qualifying exams in March or April of 2025 are also eligible to take the CLAT 2025 exam. At the time of admission, the candidate must submit the results of the qualifying examination (i.e., the 10+2); if they do not, they will not be eligible for admission to the degree they have applied for.

CLAT 2025 exam will be conducted in offline mode and application form will be submitted only in online mode from consortiumofnlus.ac.in website.

CLAT Online Registration and Filling of Application Form 2025 –

Candidates can follow the steps given below to fill out the application form of CLAT 2025.

Registration: Visit the CLAT Official web site or click on the link https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2025/
•To register, enter your name, email id, mobile number, and other details.
•Log in to the website exploitation the mobile number and password.
Fill in relevant details for CLAT: Here enter personal, academic, and contact details.
•You must also choose your programme of study (UG or PG) and enter your top-choice NLUs in that order from a drop-down menu.
