CLAT Exam Details Overview 2026
The Common Law admission Test, usually known as CLAT, is a national-level law entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities in India. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) conducts the exam in an offline, pen-and-paper style. Qualifying candidates will be allowed to the 5-year integrated LLB and LLM programmes offered by the participating national law universities.
At participating NLUs, the Centralised Admission Process of seat assignment fills about 3000 undergraduate seats and 1,000 postgraduate seats. However, the nation's top private law schools have also approved of CLAT.

CLAT Exam Important Dates 2026
The CLAT application form for 2026 was made available on July 20, 2025 by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs).Last date to apply for CLAT 2026 application form is October 31, 2025. Earlier, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) had made some modification to the CLAT 2026 syllabus. In CLAT 2026, there will be 120 questions. CLAT 2026 examination will be held on December 7, 2025, in offline mode.

Candidates can follow the steps given below to fill out the application form of CLAT 2026.
•Registration: Visit the CLAT Official web site or click on the link consortiumofnlus.ac.in
•To register, enter your name, email id, mobile number, and other details.
•Log in to the website exploitation the mobile number and password.
•Fill in relevant details for CLAT: Here enter personal, academic, and contact details.
•You must also choose your programme of study (UG or PG) and enter your top-choice NLUs in that order from a drop-down menu.
