The Bihar Police SI 2023 Exam Pattern consists of three stages: Prelims Exam, Mains Exam, and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The detailed exam pattern is as follows:

 

Prelims Exam Pattern:

  • The Prelims Exam consists of objective-type questions (MCQs).
  • The exam consists of two subjects: General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
  • Each question carries 2 marks.
  • There isnegative marking of 0.2 Marks for each wrong answer.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for prelims are 30% marks i.e., 60 marks.
  • The exam duration for the exam is 2 hours (120 Minutes).

Mains Exam Pattern:

  • The Mains Exam consists of objective-type questions (MCQs).
  • The exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • Paper 1 covers General Hindi and is of 200 marks.
  • Paper 2 covers General Studies (General Science, Civics, Indian History, Geography of India, and Mathematics) and is of 200 marks.
  • Number of questions: 400 (200 questions each in Paper I and Paper II)
  • Time duration: 4 hours (2 hours each for Paper I and Paper II)
  • Marking scheme: 2 marks for each correct answer, 0.2 marks deduction for each wrong answer.

  • The Preliminary Exam is a qualifying exam. Candidates must score at least 30% of the marks in the Preliminary Exam to qualify for the Main Exam.
  • The Main Exam is the merit exam. Candidates are ranked based on their performance in the Main Exam.
  • The PET and Medical Examinations are qualifying exams. Candidates must pass the PET and Medical Examination to be eligible for appointment.
