Distance between Two Points

Distance between Two Points

The distance between two points A(x1, y1) and B(x2, y2) is length AB=x2-x12+y2-y12

Note:

  • ·  If the points A and B lie on the x-axis, then the ordinates of A and B are zeros. i.e., A(x1, 0), B(x2, 0) then  AB =  .
  • ·   If the points A and B lie on the y-axis, then the abscissae of A and B are zeros. i.e.,       A (0, y1) and B (0, y2) then AB=  .

·        Distance of any point A(x, y) from the origin OA= .
