In substitution coding, certain objects are given code names and students have to understand the correct substitution code for the object. In this type of questions some things are identify with there term or names which has given or written with code you need to find and answered according with three pattern of language. In such questions, names/words are substituted with different names/words. We have to carefully trace the substitution to arrive at the correct answer.
Example : If book is called watch, watch is called bag, bag is called dictionary and dictionary is called window, which is used to carry the books?
Solution : Dictionary
Clearly, a 'bag' is used to carry the books but a 'bag' is called 'dictionary'. So, a 'dictionary' will be used to carry the books.
Example : If rain is water, water is road, road is cloud, cloud is sky, sky is sea and sea is path, where do aeroplanes fly?
Solution : Sea
The aeroplane fly in the 'sky' and the 'sky' is called 'sea'. So, the aeroplanes fly in the 'sea'.
Example : If the animals which can walk are called swimmers, animals who crawl are called flying, those living in water are called snakes and those which fly in the sky are called hunters, then what will a lizard be called ?
Solution : Flying
Clearly, a lizard crawls and the animals that crawl are called 'flying'.
So, 'lizard' is called 'flying'.
Example : If bangle is called cassette, cassette is called table, table is called game and game is called cupboard, then which is played in the tape recorder ?
Solution : Table
Clearly, a 'cassette' is played in the tape-recorder.
But a 'cassette' is called 'table'.
So, a table will be played in the tape-recorder.
