There are over 7,000 languages spoken in the world today. The most spoken language is Mandarin Chinese, with over 1.1 billion native speakers. Other widely spoken languages include English (1.35 billion speakers), Hindi (609 million speakers), Spanish (559 million speakers), and French (309 million speakers).
